We get asked some things very frequently. For your convenience we have put those questions and answers here.

Ordering a Cake

If you would like to book a cake, a non-refundable payment of £20 is required to secure the booking. Only upon receipt of the deposit is the cake booked in. If you want a specific date but not sure on style, then a deposit will book that date in the diary for you.

The remaining balance of the cake can be paid prior to collection,or in cash on the day.

Wedding Cakes require a non-refundable deposit of £50 and again, will only be booked in upon receipt of this deposit. The remaining balance must be paid at least 7 days before the wedding date.

I’m also happy for the remaining balance to be paid by instalments prior to this.

Payments
Deposits and full balance payments can be paid through PayPal, Bank Transfer or Cash. Details will be given at the consultation stage.

Design
Design is approved by either correspondence through email, message,phone or a meeting. Once the final design is agreed,this is when the deposit is payable. Any change to the size or design must be made at least 2 weeks before the collection date or 4 weeks before for a wedding cake.

Flavours
Most flavours are available these days with the most popular being Vanilla,Chocolate Lemon,Strawberry,Toffee,Carrot or any mix. But if you’d like something else, this can be discussed at the consultation,but have fun, that’s what cakes are all about.

Dietary Requirements

I can offer cakes with specific requirements for example gluten free,no egg,no dairy even vegan. But this must be made clear from the start as these need extra time to prepare and a small addition cost due to ingredients. I do not use nuts but cannot 100% guarantee this due to many different ingredients being used.

I hold a valid allergen certificate.

Flowers
I only use fresh edible flowers from my supplier and do not allow florists to place their flowers onto my cakes due to the use of pesticides and the fact that many are poisonous including gypsophila. My supplier produces a wide range of edible food safe flowers. Therefore if you ask me to make just the cake to which flowers are to be placed onto the cake after I have set up any cake, I’m afraid the answer will be no.

Cancellation
All deposits are non-refundable due to the cost of me purchasing items for your cake. Any over payments will be returned unless cancelled 7 days before or 4 weeks before for a wedding.

Collection
Once the cake has been collected, it is solely the responsibility of the customer to take care of the cake. Clear instructions will be given at the time of collection and these will be written on the invoice given. If any damage does occur whilst in the care of the customer, I may be able to repair this at an additional cost. If the cake is to be delivered and set up, for a wedding for example, a delivery note will need to be signed by someone at the venue to verify that the cake is in perfect condition along with photographic evidence.

Stand Hire
I have a few wedding cake stands and cupcake stands & tower which can be hired for a £50 cash holding deposit which is returned when the stand is returned in the condition it was hired.

Illness or Emergency
If I, or any of my immediate family are taken ill, or there is an emergency situation, I will try my best to have your cake made and finished by a reputable cake maker nearby or you will be offered a full refund.
